Have you been feeling anxious, depressed or isolated? There is strong scientific evidence pointing to a connection between these feelings and your interpersonal relationships. Whether it is your sexual, romantic, working, family or social life, there is a good chance your struggles are associated with the nature of your relationships. Therapy with me focuses on these. We are social creatures and I am firm believer that what happens inside us is a reflection of what happens outside, of how we embed in a larger and complex network of people.

I’m a licensed clinical social worker and therapist with a masters degree in Social Work from NYU and decades of diverse experience in the field of mental health. This experience has shown me time and again the power of therapy to improve people’s lives in concrete ways. I have learned to identify the patterns of relationships that usually cause painful mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, isolation and depression. But I have also learned that these patterns are not forever fixed. Rather, they depend on how we understand and value our relationships, what kind of expectations we have from them and how we perceive our own value as reflected in others.

What can you expect?

In therapy sessions with me you can expect openness. I do not believe in telling my clients what to do, foremost because I have witnessed firsthand that it doesn’t work. Therapy is always a journey of self-understanding and my role is to guide you in this journey. But you can count on each session to help you analyze and unravel the knots in your relationships that create anxiety and distress, thereby pointing the way to solutions and releasing the pressure on your self.

For the last 20 years, I have been supporting individuals, couples and
families with mental health challenges in a variety of circumstances, and my experience
has led me to a creative, flexible and practical approach. I believe
in giving plain feedback but also like to use humor and metaphors to help us navigate
the rough waters of life.
